Centare Group partnered with a globally known American motorcycle manufacturing company headquartered in Southeastern Wisconsin. In addition to their motorcycle production, the client is also widely recognized for their popular line of clothing apparel and collectibles and remains a cornerstone of U.S. culture.
Challenge / Issue
The client typically provides business consulting services to their coalition of motorcycle dealerships. As such, they routinely generate financial reports that allow individual dealers to compare their performance results with that of their (non-identified) peers. These reports consisted of cumbersome spreadsheet documents that often yielded 35 pages of data created from up to 15 or more pages of formulae and supporting materials. The client maintained a tedious, and often times error-prone, manual process for updating the reports. From start to finish, the monthly process would often consume one to two full weeks for completion and included high shipping expenses as reports were mailed to various dealers.
Centare Group Solution
Centare consultants reconfigured the client’s performance reports using Actuate’s e.Spreadsheet Engine within batch programs and web-based programs. The new reporting tool reduced the one to two week reporting process to two minutes. Previous reports had been generated on a monthly basis. However, with Centare Group’s help, the reports are now updated every night.
Because the reports are accessible online, dealers now have immediate access to the information. This not only increases the efficiency of information distribution, it also saves the client from the mounting shipping costs. Centare consultants implemented a pure, back-end solution that virtually eliminated human error from the reporting process and leveraged Actuate’s support for pivot tables and the cross tabulation of data.
