Biggest issue your firm faces in 2002: Continued growth during the current economic downturn. During the “dot-com” and Y2K era in information technology (IT), service firms were faced with virtually unlimited opportunities. During that same period, quality IT labor supplies could not meet the demand. Today in a slow economy, opportunities are limited and the labor supply is relatively high. We feel it’s important to grow during this downturn in the IT industry and capitalize on the high quality IT resources that are available today.
How do you plan to deal with that big issue? In order to have continued growth during these slow economic times, we are making every effort to secure a higher percentage of the IT dollars being spent. We have recently hired a VP of business development to increase awareness of our service offerings to the business community. We expect that increased awareness of who Centare Group is, our superior quality of consultants, and how we can assist businesses with their IT needs will result in increased business. We have also focused a lot of effort on how we can demonstrate to customers the strategic advantage of using our firm over our competitors. To that end, we have developed a service offering called jmethod. jmethod is an object-oriented application development approach based on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) set of standards. With jmethod, every Centare Group engagement includes the comprehensive knowledge and experiences of our entire organization, packaged as a set of best practices and development standards for any J2EE development environment.
Business words of Wisdom: Don’t lose site of the horizon just because something intriguing crosses your path. Short-term gains don’t always lead to long-term results. Focus on what you do best; outsource the rest. Keep business overhead to a minimum to allow dollars to be wisely spent on business growth.
