ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. is one of the largest scaffold companies in the United States. Today ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. offers scaffold rental, labor services, training, engineering, inventory and project management, all in compliance with the highest safety standards.

Challenge / Issue

Due to tremendous growth, ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. needed to take their job costing application to the next level. As a market leader in providing scaffolding products and services, accurate and complete job cost information is critical to maintaining this leadership position.

The vast majority of enterprise applications currently run on their IBM iSeries server. ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. desired to continue leveraging this platform for new applications. In addition ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. was interested in moving towards Java and open systems development.

Centare Group Solution

Centare Group was engaged by ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. to create a new Java based Job Costing system, to be deployed on their iSeries server running IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Centare worked closely with the staff and management of ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. to design and implement a web-based Java application that replaced and extended their current job costing capabilities. Centare Group used IBM WebSphere Studio Client for iSeries for application development and implemented an IBM Rational Application Developer to maintain the application.
